"And he's got posters on the wall, of the girls he wishes she was."- Flavors of the Week, American Hi-Fi
The story behind how Stefan and Serena became friends. (With Colton Haynes as Dean Tanners, Serena's diick boyfriend). Note that towards the end when it talks about Mystic Grill, it is not referring to a date. They are simply friends who can relate on some stuff. Although they just met, Serena feels she can trust Stefan.
This is also just a filler chapter that actually happens before the events I wrote in my "Is that alright you?" set. It's suppose to explain how Serena met the youngest Salvatore and became newly single.

Serena walked towards her car slowly, books clutched to her chest as she played with her car keys in her other hand. Today had been a long day at school. She had tons of Trig. Homework, had gotten into a fight with Caroline, and had witnessed Dean - her boyfriend - openly flirting with some sophomore girl who was dressed like she was going clubbing.
To put it quite frankly, Serena was exhausted and just wanted to get home so she could just curl up into a ball and sleep away her troubles.
Serena smiled at the sight of her old Jeep in the distance, slightly rusted from the use over the years. She had left her windows cracked to keep it from getting too warm from the summer heat that was still in effect during the first days of school. She stopped in front of it with content as she slid her car key into the lock to open the driver’s door. Before she could turn it however she was whipped around, her books falling to her feet in surprise as assignments fell from between the pages and scattered around her. Before she could get a look at who had jumped her, the stranger’s lips were on hers’, chapped and growing familiar as the kiss was briefly deepened before Serena shoved the person away.
“Dean,” she snapped, agitated as she glared at him briefly before bending down to retrieve her belongings. The last thing she wanted to be doing right now was talk to Dean, especially after his little “single-man” act earlier that same day.
“Hey to you too babe,” he smirked as he watched her grab her stuff.
She casted him a look as she stood, before turning away from him and opening her car door, tossing her belongings into the passenger seat. She contemplated on simply climbing into her vehicle and leaving him there, humiliated and feeling rejected, but couldn’t when his arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her towards’ him, turning her around once more.
“Don’t be like that,” he said softly.
“Like what?” she asked, eyebrow raised. “Annoyed? Angry? I’m pretty sure I can and I will.”
Dean scoffed. “Come on Serena, just relax.” He leaned into her once more, kissing her neck before Serena managed to pull away from him.
“You flirted with somebody else with me right near by,” she stated simply, ignoring his comment. “We’ve been dating for almost a year now. You know how that makes me feel; this isn’t some kind of open relationship, Dean where you can just hit on other girls.”
“We were just flirting,” Dean said, rolling his eyes. “It shouldn’t be a big a deal. I mean, are you really so insecure about other girls?”
Serena’s breath caught in her throat and she found herself pushing Dean away from her body, his arm falling to his sides as she crossed her own in anger.
“Really? Really? You think I’m insecure?” she snapped. “For one, our relationship is not the center of my life. It’s important, but I’m not hooked on us like some love-sick puppy. I do have a life. And two, you were flirting with another girl, Dean. I was right there, I saw it all. You two were so close, you could’ve kissed.”
Dean rolled his eyes, sighing. “Whatever. I don’t want to fight,” he decided, bringing his arms towards her once more. “How about we just forget about this, hm?” he smirked, trying to kiss her once more.
Serena struggled against his hold. “Get off of me Dean.”
“Come on Serena, just one kiss. I guarantee you’ll see things in my light then,” he assured her, not letting go.
“DEAN-”
He planted his lips on hers’ forcefully, Serena hitting his chest. Finally she bit down on his lip and he drew back once more, cursing to himself as he held a hand to his lips, the bottom one bleeding.
“I said get off,” she finished.
“You biitch,” he said ignoring her. “My lip’s bleeding.”
Serena’s eyebrows rose at the comment, but she resisted the urge to say anything else back. Instead she sucked in a deep breath and tried to calm herself. Finally, she said after a minute, “I think we should see other people.”
“Oh really? Don’t you think you’re being a little melodramatic?” Dean replied angrily.
“You know, you’re really just starting to piiss me off now,” she decided. “We’re over, Dean.”
Dean glared at her, surprising her by taking her arm in his hand in a tight grip and yanking her towards him. She thought he would’ve just stormed away by now, but instead here he was.
“We aren’t done until I say we’re done,” he snapped, his tone sharp and vicious.
“Let go of me, you’re hurting me,” Serena said, trying to pull away.
Dean tightened his grip.
“Ow-” she hissed, knowing she was getting a bruise.
Before anything else could happen a stranger walked up to them, either not noticing the situation or just choosing to ignore it. The stranger wore jeans, a leather jacket, and nice sunglasses. His hair was styled in a certain way and Serena couldn’t help but notice people stared when he came into a public area.
Dean let go of Serena quickly at the sight of the stranger and quickly smirked, but his eyes told the truth on how he really felt: annoyed by the sudden hero. Serena couldn’t manage a smile to hide the pain or exhaustion of the days’ events. Instead, she rubbed her arm and looked away from Dean, avoiding any possible contact with him.
“Hey I’m new here,” the stranger said, looking directly at Dean, “Can you show me where the office is at?” he asked.
Serena could tell he wasn’t stupid right away, he obviously knew what was going on and had come to interrupt. Besides she had heard from Caroline earlier about some new kid being in the office, so she wouldn’t be surprised if this was the same man. He also obviously knew where the office was located.
Dean cleared his throat. “Yeah, I can show you,” he said, pretending to be mister nice-guy.
He brushed past Serena and the stranger, leading back towards the school. However the stranger did not follow, which Serena found strange, however she simply ignored it.
“I didn’t need you’re help,” she stated simply.
“I didn’t say you did,” he replied.
Serena was silent for a minute, then: “I’m Serena Argent.” She held out her hand for him to shake.
He took it in hers’ and did so. “Stefan Salvatore.”
She nodded.
He took a breath then and finally said, “I don’t want to seem like I’m crossing any bounds, but you know you don’t need to put up with guys’ like him-”
“I didn’t ask for your opinion, so therefore, I don’t need it,” Serena said, annoyed once more.
He nodded. “Right, listen, I know we just met but if you do want to talk about it with somebody, or you know, just talk-”
“I’m not some damsel, I’ll be fine,” Serena replied. She silent for a minute, then added: “But it’s noted, thanks.”
Stefan nodded and smiled. “Anytime.”
Serena smiled slightly. He turned to leave but just as he did Serena stopped him. “Have you ever been to Mystic Grill?”
Stefan turned around. “I’ve been.” He smiled when he realized what she was doing. “I’ll be there around seven, you can come if you want to talk.”
And with that he walked away, hands in pockets as Serena turned back towards her car, her bruise already forming.
